Stencils & Murals

Stencils: Stencils are amazing tools for creating custom designs that are not achievable with wallpaper. With stencils, you can select or create exactly the design you want in the colors and textures your desire. I often use stencils to create finishes with many layers, for example, creating an embossed pattern with plaster, waxes, or gels. Using stencils, beautiful murals can also be created quickly.

Murals: For the ultimate customization, murals are the answer. I work with my clients to research the style of painting they like best and what is best suited for the situation. I then research elements that will appear in the mural. The final step is to create a maquette, which is a small, preliminary design. When the sample or maquette is finished, it’s on to the full-sized mural.

Old Hollywood Glamour

The depth of the finish in this formal sitting room is enhanced by a gold, strie glaze over a solid gold damask stencil pattern.

Country Americana

I loosely applied glaze over a stencil and allowed the delicate lace pattern to fade in and out. The designed look compliments the comfortable and elegant country bedroom.

Ottoman Oasis

The detail ornamentation in the arch was achieved using part of stencil (the same stencil that was used in "Ottoman Inlay.") The "window" design under the arch was created with a second stencil pattern. The two combine to create a dramatic focal for the room.
